In the Quarantine Empties series, the present presents itself in the haze of pictorial stains, veiling the landscape to inhabit the void of man. In the layers of overlapping images, deconstructions of figurative images orbit the space as if they float without purpose to undo their meanings and only belong to the poetry that resides in the moment that the painting captures.
These works were carried out during the Czech Republic Mobile Number List experimentation of the voids generated during the Covid pandemic in 2020 in relation to the lack of respect between people.
The questions suggested also refer to the void left by the absence of habits, of meetings, by the anguish of feeling adrift from the news, weakened and powerless in the face of something with no apparent solution, by the strange feeling of knowing that
something harmful and invisible roams out there and on the verge of anticipated death.
The void here is used in an indignant political context since while the global recommendation is to protect oneself at home, some human attitudes contradict alterity and empathetic co-existence.
The position that motivates the expression of the paintings is that every moment provoked to be contagious is, at the very least, selfish.
